KVK, Kalikiri organized vanamahotsavam in their farm by planting 200 sapota and 200 guava graftings along the hill slope. Dr. T. Giridhar Krishna ADR, RARS, Tirupati and Sri C. Reddeppa reddy  Member, Board of Management, ANGRAU were the chief guests of the programme.

Gravitational drip system was also established for the trees by installing 5000 litres sintex tank at the hill top. Addressing on the occasion Dr. T. Giridhar Krishna explained the importance of tree planting in maintaining ecological balance. He also stressed the concept of climate change and its implications on agricultural production and productivity. He appreciated the efforts of KVK staff for taking up vanamahotsavam in their farm premises.
